Kelsey Bourdon Obituary Elkhart IN: Honor Walk for Mom of Three who Passed Away After Childbirth, Husband Tyler Bourdon Devastated

Kelsey Bourdon Obituary- A solemn honor walk was held on Saturday at Elkhart General Hospital for Kelsey Bourdon, a devoted wife, mother, and registered nurse, who tragically passed away following complications after the birth of her third child.

Her unexpected passing has left her husband, Tyler Bourdon, and their three young children grappling with an unimaginable loss.

Kelsey, who worked as an RN in Oncology, the OB unit, and the Ambulatory Infusion Clinic, was deeply respected by her colleagues and cherished by her family and friends.

The events surrounding her death were recounted by her husband in an emotional message:
“To everyone in our lives, I’m posting a very short update now since so many of you have been in the dark. As some/most of you know, Kelsey Bourdon and I were expecting our 3rd child on 1/20/25. We did not know the gender.

On that date, Kelsey gave birth to a beautiful little girl. The night before we were to be discharged, things took a turn for the worse, and we found out that Kelsey had some swelling in her brain and suffered a seizure shortly thereafter. Those things led to a cascade of events that ultimately ended in her death at 14:17 this afternoon.”

The honor walk, a poignant tribute to Kelsey, was held in recognition of her life and her dedication to caring for others as a nurse. The hospital staff and family members lined the hallways as her body was escorted to the operating room for organ donation, a final act of selflessness that reflected her compassionate spirit. “Honor walk for Kelsey Bourdon is on at 5:00 pm. Meet at Elkhart General Hospital, Elevator G, 3rd floor between 4:30 & 4:45.”

Kelsey is remembered as a loving wife, an incredible mother, and a skilled nurse who made a meaningful impact on her patients and colleagues. Her passing has drawn an outpouring of grief and support from the community, with many sharing heartfelt tributes to her kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for her family.

The Bourdon family now faces the difficult road ahead of raising three young children without the heart of their home. Friends and family have rallied around Tyler and his children, offering comfort and assistance during this devastating time.

Funeral arrangements for Kelsey Bourdon will be announced in the coming days. Her legacy as a caregiver, mother, and wife will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Beacon Nursing Honor Guard – Elkhart General Hospital Elkhart, IN, United States: “This evening our Beacon Nursing Honor Guard participated in our first donor honor walk for Nurse Kelsey Bourdon who passed away unexpectedly a few days after childbirth. Kelsey had been an RN working in Oncology, the OB unit, and the Ambulatory Infusion Clinic.

She was a wife and young mother of three. She has always been adamant about being an organ donor so this evening she had a donor honor walk to pay respects and honor her going for organ donation which will save multiple lives. Our Honor Guard felt very proud to know her and humbled to be there. We are grateful for Kelsey’s family, friends, and colleagues and will keep them in our thoughts.”
