The crash, which took place shortly after midnight, involved three vehicles: a 2005 Honda Civic, a 2020 Hyundai Tucson, and a 2020 Freightliner SD 122 tractor-trailer.
Pennsylvania State Police from the Fogelsville barracks say the Civic, operated by a 20-year-old man from Bethlehem, was traveling east on Mosserville Road, while Milkewicz was heading north on Route 309 in the Tucson. The Freightliner, driven by a 53-year-old man from New Ringgold, was moving south on Route 309 when the fatal collision occurred.
Milkewicz was the sole fatality in the crash. The extent of injuries to the other drivers, if any, has not been publicly released.
State Police are leading the ongoing investigation, with assistance from the Troop M Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist, the Troop M Forensic Services Unit, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, PennDOT, Cetronia Ambulance, and the New Tripoli Fire Company.
As of now, authorities have not stated whether any charges are pending. Additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.
Milkewicz’s death has sent shockwaves through her hometown of Lansford, where family and friends are mourning the sudden and tragic loss of a woman described by those close to her as kind, spirited, and deeply loved. A formal obituary and memorial arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in the coming days.
