A man who celebrated his first Father’s Day with his twin sons Sunday lost one before the day was done to a fatal shooting at WestFest.
The family has organized a fundraising account to pay for the baby’s funeral in Guatemala.
“Our precious 8-month-old baby (one of our twin sons) was tragically taken from us in the crossfire of senseless gun violence,” says Anderson Garcia in his GoFundMe post.
He describes the loss of his son as “the most heartbreaking night of our lives.”
The twin who died was named Anderson, like his father. The twins’ mother is named Mehili, the GoFundMe page says.
“We are devastated and struggling to process this unimaginable loss,” Garcia’s writes. “Our greatest wish is to return our beautiful son to Guatemala, so he can rest in peace surrounded by our family and loved ones.
“We are reaching out to our community for support during this incredibly difficult time.”

The page says that any money raised “will help us cover the costs of transporting our baby home and giving him the proper burial he deserves. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion, prayers, and support. With love, Anderson & Mehili Garcia”
